Patient Participation Group

Our Patient Participation Group

We have a well established Patient Participation Group (PPG) and are always looking to recruit new members to ensure a representative group. Our Patient Participation Group is made up of patients that are interested in supporting the practice, contributing ideas and offering feedback.

The group meets every two months at the practice to discuss topical issues with the practice management team. Each meeting is also attended by one of the GP’s who is able to talk about any clinical points that arise.

Guest speakers attend some of the meetings to talk about the health and general wellbeing of the patient population or to inform the group as to ancillary and other services that are available in the local area.

The practice team speak at each meeting to update members of the group as to any current issues and to seek the views of the group on any developments that might affect patients and to talk about any plans for the development of services.

The group also undertake some fundraising to provide the little extras that will enhance the patient experience. Books and DVD’s are sold through the practice Administration team and other ad-hoc events such as cake and craft sales are held periodically to generate funds.

Membership of the group is free of charge and is open to all patients over the age of 16 years (and their carers if applicable). Enquiries are welcomed by email. For those that are unable to attend the bi-monthly meetings a “virtual” group exists and members receive the minutes of all meetings and are welcome to offer their own views on any general matters that they wish to raise.

The PPG does not deal with any matters specific to any patient as these are dealt with by the practice in their normal day to day activities.

If you wish to become a member of the PPG, please visit our PPG Registration page.
