Urinary Tract Infections

Suspected Urinary Tract Infection

In line with CCG guidelines, the practice has adopted a protocol and self-care programme for patients with a suspected urinary tract infection. Most UTI’s can be treated at home.

Possible signs or symptoms of a UTI can include:

  • Pain on Urination
  • Lower back or side pain
  • The need to urinate more often
  • Blood in the urine
  • An urge to urinate
  • NEW incontinence
  • A recent urine infection

If you feel you have two or more signs or symptoms of a UTI, please visit our Consulting Room and submit a Get help from the Practice form.

If a urine sample is necessary to determine treatment, patients will be required to take a mid stream urine sample themselves to be tested. Information on how to do this will be provided by the admin team.
